A term used by Beth Ann Baldry to describe the current speed of play at the Solheim Cup and in my opinion, right on target. Alistair Tait is also bothered by this slow play and has a 'top ten' list of ideas to speed things up a bit, but I doubt if anyone in power would bother to apply any of these good attempts to make the LPGA's Solheim Cup a more exciting product.
A few years back, there used to be a very 'un-politically correct' phrase that was used a lot, "women drivers" . . heh heh . . Slow, deliberate and always holding up traffic!
I agree with Tait in that part of the skill of golf is being able to LINE YOUR OWNSELF UP !! and should be handled by the player - my god, are these just robots?
He also mentions one of my pet peeves - the constant marking and remarking their ball on the green to get that 'phony' black line aimed absolutely perfect - I just hate all this 'tech takeover' of the great game.
Can you just visualize Tommy Lasorda having to go out to the mound to get Sandy Koufax properly lined up at that outside corner? . . Ha !
Sorry, I just don't see this 'painfully slow' sport electrifying the young Olympics crowd.
