What kind of tournament is Georgia playing in? They must really need some wins!!!! Not used to seeing them in dire straits to win a tournament....

Georgia had a day rained out in the fall and the Morris Williams event in April is a two-day event. This left Georgia with two days available and they added this event.
I would not say that Georgia needed wins, rather they had the days and this event fit nicely for them.
Although, this event should leave no question for them if the .500 Rule was an issue.

Definitely with this win, it takes the pressure off the spring season once they hit the big boys regarding the .500 rule

like Lance said they had a rain out and when it comes to Regionals it could have an impact if you get selected or not depending on the number of rounds you have played. Correct me if I am wrong on that, so I would rather be called pansy and make sure my team does not get disqualified because of the rain shortened tournament.

Must agree, they better win and win large, 6900 yards, should be a birdie fest. I am sure the other teams were not happy with their presence.

You really think so? My experiences has told me these teams want a chance to play in fields with the better teams. Obviously those teams are not going to win, but what a story it would be if they could and for any of the individuals that beat any of the Georgia players.

I think it's great for college golf that higher ranked teams play in other events rather than with only big time golf schools. I think one advantage of the 500 rule has brought would be lower ranked teams being able to compete with perenial top 50 programs. Congrats to Georgia for playing this event!!
