Rumor has it, he turned pro, is this true?
At the Nationwide event, that is the buzz. Any truth to it?

Guess not, he tanked it the last two days ending near the bottom, poor guy! Relief - OSU needs him next year to try to win a title on their own course.

I hope he waits one more year before making the jump. He is a very good player, but could really benifit from playing one more year in college. I am curious to see how Rickie Fowlers success affects other college players leaving early. Rickie is kind of the exception when it comes to having instant success on the tour. For every Fowler there is 100 guys that never really make it. See Casey Wittenburg.

waht about casey wittenberg?
why is it every american thinks americans are better off staying in college while anybody from a foreign country gets a head start and cant see the benefit?
outside or Mickelson, who is the last great player in the world to go through the american college team system four all four years since? Matt Hill at NC st you think isnt regretting his decision of staying his last year when he ahd professional invites lined up?
I know he is canadian, but he is the example I thought of staying or going.
btw, college golf is not condusive to pro golf. It is outdated and only holds american golfers back.

wyomingcowboy,
What in the heck are you basing this on?
Here are a number of guys that played four years in college, along with where they currently rank on the PGA Tour money list:
2- Jeff Overton
3 - Phil Mickelson
5 - Jim Furyk
7 - Steve Stricker
9 - Matt Kucher
12 - Bo Van Pelt
13 - Dustin Johnson
14 - Ben Crane
15 - Camilo Villegas
19 - Luke Donald
22 - J.B. Holmes
24 - Zach Johnson
26 - Brendan de Jonge
30 - Nick Watney
Not sure if Ryan Palmer and Paul Casey spent four years in college, but if so, they are 18th and 21st on the money list.
And let's not forget that David Duval was a former #1 player in the world not too long after he spent four years in school!

I would think we would know by now if he would choose to turn pro. After all, school starts in the next few weeks. Maybe he will play in the US Am first, before making final decision. Can you go to Q school in the fall while still attending college?

Congrats, cowboy, you win for the single most ignorant post this year!
With so many uninformed and uneducated posts on these boards, this award is not easy to win. But you did it. Your lack of value for a college education that is so blatantly expressed in the above is exactly what I've been fighting on Golfweek and Golfboard since they began.
Time to get back on that horse and do some ropin' Get along little doggy!
